Family Violence OnlineTutorialsFlorida State University School of Social WorkInstitute for Family Violence StudiesWelcome to the Institute for Family Violence Studies' Family Violence Online Tutorials!Since 1999, the Institute has used its domestic violence manuals to train hundreds of human service professionals through live workshops. The success and popularity of the programs has led to an overwhelming request for training sessions across the country. In order to meet the increasing demand for domestic abuse training, we have transformed our materials into Online Tutorials than anyone can access and complete. These tutorials serve to train urban professionals as well - simply skip the Rural Barriers module if it does not apply to your client population. To access the tutorials, simply click on the appropriate link. Just like in the live workshops, you will be asked to complete a pre-test. Don't worry, this is simply a way for us to evaluate the effectiveness of our program! After you have completed the pre-test, you may continue through the tutorial, moving at your own pace. You can even stop and return at a later time to complete your studies. Throughout the modules you will find case examples, self-quizzes, and case studies with which you can test your knowledge. At the end, you will be asked to complete a post-test - again, this is only for our program evaluation purposes. Finally, please fill in the Tutorial Evaluation form and give us feedback on your experience and satisfaction with the new online programs. In response, you will receive a certificate of completion for your records. That's all there is to it! You may complete as many of the Online Tutorials as you like! Follow-Up: We hope these tutorials will help you to identify victims of abuse who might otherwise go unnoticed, and we would like to know if the training information proved useful to you in identifying victims of domestic abuse. In three to six months you will be sent a short voluntary follow-up questionnaire via e-mail. You can simply reply to the e-mail to let us know. Thank you for your interest in this important subject and we hope you enjoy your online experience!
