Overview
The purpose of this training module is to describe the important role Animal Abuse Investigators can play in the screening, identification, and referral of domestic violence victims in homes where animal abuse has been reported. This module will also discuss the guiding principles critical to these responsibilities and inform investigators of how best to incorporate these tasks into their visits.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this training module, Animal Abuse Investigators will be able to:
     1. Identify guiding principles crucial to working with victims of domestic violence.
     2. Identify the common signs of domestic violence and abuse.
     3. Ask about abuse in an appropriate manner.
     4. Respond appropriately to the disclosure of domestic violence.
     5. Describe questions used to assess lethality.
     6. Form a safety plan with a victim of domestic violence.
     7. Know where to refer the victims for professional assistance.
