Purpose
The purpose of this training module is to inform Animal Abuse Investigators about the importance of a coordinated community response to domestic violence and the roles and responsibilities of key community actors. This module will also inform participants of available state and national resources for victims of domestic violence.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this chapter, Animal Abuse Investigators will be able to:
     1. Describe elements of a coordinated community response to domestic violence.
     2. Understand the importance of a coordinated community response.
     3. Describe the appropriate roles of law enforcement, the courts, prosecutors,
         health care practitioners, batterer’s intervention programs, and domestic violence centers.
     4. Identify primary resources for domestic violence assistance.
