Other Roles for Mental Health Staff
Mental health staff can become advocates against domestic violence not only in their work with their own clients, but also by:

  • Participating in local domestic violence coordinating committees, boards of domestic violence shelters, or similar groups.
  • Volunteering at local domestic violence shelters.
  • Speaking to legislators, sheriffs, police chiefs, and prosecutors about domestic violence.
  • Joining The Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and other organizations fighting domestic violence.
