Purpose
This chapter will address the often-overlooked abuse issues of elder self-neglect and elder financial abuse or exploitation. While financial abuse is a form of domestic violence, self-neglect by definition, is not and there is no prosecutable abuser. Both issues, however, are often associated with elder domestic abuse and are widespread problems deserving of more attention.

By the end of this training module, participants will be able to:
     1. Identify possible precursors to elder self-neglect.
     2. Understand possible causes of elder self- neglect.
     3. Identify signs of elder self-neglect.
     4. Identify signs of financial abuse and exploitation.
