Batterers typically engage in a set of behaviors which may directly
or indirectly affect their partner’s ability to obtain appropriate food
or health care, consume adequate nutrition, or prepare nutritionally sound
meals. These effects may also impact on the nutritional well-being of
infants and young children. Following is a list of common behaviors batterers
typically engage in and some possible effects on the nutritional status
of pregnanct women and children.
