Role of WIC and Other Health/Nutrition Program Staff in Providing Nutritional Services
WIC and other health/nutrition workers currently complete the following tasks with their clients, depending upon the participant’s client type (pregnant; breast-feeding and post-partum women; infants and children):

A. Conduct nutritional or related assessments
B. Provide counseling and education
C. Make referrals to social service agencies and/or support groups
D. Consult with medical providers
E. Follow-up
F. Document

Following, we propose a protocol that does not add additional steps to your curent work model. You may simply include domestic violence issues in each phase of your nutritional assessment and service provision.
