Purpose
The purpose of this module is to describe the important role WIC and other health/ nutrition program staff can play in the screening, identification, and referral of domestic violence victims in their client population. This module will also discuss the guiding principles critical to these responsibilities and inform staff of how best to incorporate these tasks into their existing roles.

Learning Objectives
By the end of this training module, WIC and other health/nutrition program staff will be able to:
     1. Identify guiding principles crucial to working with victims of domestic violence.
     2. Identify the roles workers can employ in the screening, assessment and intervention of
         clients experiencing domestic violence.
     3. Demonstrate the use of a domestic violence basic abuse screening and assessment tools.
     4. Discuss danger assessments and results with clients.
