Leon County Domestic Violence Fatality Review – 2012 Annual Report

The Leon County Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team is a group of citizens committed to reducing domestic violence in our community. The work of fatality review teams helps identify systemic gaps and strategies to improve and increase interventions to protect victims and children, hold batterers accountable, and prevent domestic violence homicides, in accordance with Florida Statute 741.316. Members of this include many local law enforcement officers, victim advocates, lawyers, business leaders, physicians, and other committed citizens who volunteer their time. This Team reviews deaths associated with domestic violence in order to improve coordination and delivery of services to prevent incidents of domestic violence and deaths resulting from domestic violence.
